Friends Life Care has a mission to serve older adults.  And Alzheimer’s disease is something that tends to affect more people as they get older.   According to the National Institute on Aging, there may be more than 6 million Americans, most of them age 65 or older, who have Alzheimer’s. If you love your pup and want to meet other dog lovers, you may take them to the dog park to socialize and chase a tennis ball. But some lucky dogs recently got to attend the Friends Life Care Yappy Hour.  And it was a barking good time.

What is Yappy Hour, some may ask? Well, it’s a happy hour for pets, especially of the canine persuasion, and their owners to get together and socialize. It’s a great way to get out in the fresh air, have some snacks (for humans and dogs) and to share what you love most about your furry friends.

In this post, we remember the life of Donald L. Moon – founder of Friends Life Care.

Don was a visionary leader who dedicated his life to serving older adults and promoting their dignity and independence. He was a pastoral minister in the Quaker Church and Clerk of the American Section Friends World Committee for Consultation.

And he was also a former CEO of Foulkeways at Gwynedd.  Way back in 1967, Foulkeways started as the first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Pennsylvania and the first Quaker CCRC in the United States.
